“Why don’t we canoe there?” joked Leanne, not knowing what kind of adventure those five words would set in motion. Upon receiving an invitation to visit famed Canadian author and conservationist,Farley Mowat, Leanne and her husband, Karsten, were discussing how their family would travel from Canmore to Cape Breton Island to Farley’s farm.
