Ultra Awesome: Cover Story for IMPACT Magazine

Cover photo by Paul Zizka.

A chance meeting at the Alberta Magazines Conference back in March got the editor at IMPACT and me talking about local Banff athlete, Ellie Greenwood. Last year, Ellie won the World Championship 100K race in Gibraltar. She also came in 2nd overall in the Canadian Death Race, first outright in the Scorched Sole 50 Miler and the list goes on and on. But, this gleeful, modest, UK-born runner has never let those accomplishments go to her head. They just drive this woman, when otherwise she considers the sport of ultrarunning to be “fun” (yeah, if you’re a machine like her).

IMPACT Magazine featured Ellie on their July/August 2011 cover (photo by none other than Paul Zizka Photography). I was so elated to have the cover story; get to know Ellie and you just want to shine all the light on her that you can. You’ll discover, as I did, that she is a remarkable woman. So, I hope you’ll pick up a copy of the magazine, subscribe to it, or read it online (sorry the formatting is a bit wonky, but the words are there!)

I’d love to hear your comments, so please Contact Me or leave comments below if you have any feedback!
